Ends on
This contest is generating quite a buzz! In honor of our 30th anniversary, Flyway is hosting the Honey Prize. Submit your sweet, sticky, humming, stinging environmental and place-based poetry, creative nonfiction, drama, or fiction under 300 words.
The winner will receive a $300 cash prize, a piece of pottery from an independent Iowa artist, a jar of local Iowa honey, and a bee plushy. The winning piece will be published in Flyway, and the winner will be invited to read their piece (in person or virtually) at our 30th anniversary gala in April. Submissions are open January 1-31, 2026.
